Boiler vessel Wateree. Arica - CHILE

A violent earthquake in August 1868 caused a tsunami and the Wateree, a vessel of the United States Navy docked at the port of Arica left the sea. The ship ran aground at the foot of the hills, the 15-meter wave swept the city of Arica, dragging a boat and other inland.
