Molina, ValparaiÂso Plaza Victoria, also called Plaza de La Victoria, is located in the El Almendral sector of the city plan of ValparaÃso. It takes its name in honor of the Chilean triumph in the War against the Peru-Bolivian Confederation. From the second half of the 19th century, it became important as a social center of the city.
Until the seventeenth century it was a beach that served as the whereabouts of the carts that went towards Quillota and towards Santiago. Time later it was enabled as a bullring. At the beginning of the 19th century, Plaza de Orrego was implemented, named after the house of Vicente Orrego that was located on the grounds of the current ValparaÃso Cathedral. In the middle of the same century XIX it took its current name. In the year 1904 the electric lighting of the square was implemented and in the 1960s the current tiles with wavy motifs were placed
