The Paseo 21 de Mayo is one of the natural balconies of Valpara?so, from where you can get a panoramic view of the city, more than 150 meters high, from the Artiller?a hill, adjoining the Playa Ancha Hill.

It is located on a horizontal esplanade at the edge of the cliff, has large trees, seats, appreciating in all its extension the Port and the city of Valparaiso with its hills.

Although the Paseo 21 de Mayo is today one of the busiest places for tourists and porte?os, it was not until 1911 that it began to take on the importance it has for the city today. It was a whole process: In 1890 the Naval School was inaugurated, which currently functions as the Navy Museum, then in 1893 the Artillery Elevator was inaugurated and finally, in 1911, the Paseo as such was completed.
