Brazil Avenue . Valparaiso - CHILE
Direccion:
Valparaiso Avenida Brasil is one of the most important roads in the city. It extends from Bellavista street to Argentina Avenue. It is composed of a central bandejón, along which there are two runs of palm trees, adjacent to which there are three tracks on each side.
It was created in 1880 with the name of Gran Avenida. Its current denomination was agreed on May 7, 1897, as a tribute to the friendly nation Brazil.
It was formed by fillings of spaces gained to the sea. Remains of ships and a boiler were found in 1995, between General Cruz Street and Avenida Francia, when the collector was installed to restore the Great ValparaÃso.
After the earthquake that struck ValparaÃso in 1906, the avenue was the place where barracks, field hospitals and tents were placed for the people who were injured and damaged.
