The origin of the museum is from 1975, when Antonio Felmer Niklischek decides to organize an exhibition of objects related to colonization.

Antonio collected historical material house by house, collecting from agricultural machinery to photographs that reflect that time of the second half of the nineteenth century in southern Chile. The museum has trilingual staff (English, Spanish and German) who, using traditional clothing, guide each group or delegation.

The Antonio Felmer Museum is housed in an old and imposing barn of German colonial architecture, built at the beginning of the 20th century with noble native woods, both inside and outside, which were used by immigrants to build their homes.

The Museums infrastructure offers a cozy and comfortable atmosphere in three floors of galleries that cover decades of German colonization history. Surrounded by beautiful and well-tended gardens, it is an ideal place to visit with the whole family and enjoy the enchanting natural environment.
