It is an idyllic lake that appears to float in the air at the height of the great mountains of the Andes. The best destination for those who love nature and seek an unforgettable adventure.

The first to find this lake, lost between volcanoes and trees, were the Jesuits in the seventeenth century. The monks were seeking a route to form a border. The day of "All Saints", 1 November, the Jesuit company discovered the wonderful waters of this lake. Their intentions were to convert the Indians who inhabited these areas, and also find some trace of the "City of the Caesars", a mysterious city with great buildings and castles where pure Christian living. Perhaps they found the city, but an almost equally idyllic lake.


Upon this discovery, the lake was once again forgotten. But it was rediscovered two centuries later by explorers who visited the volcano Osorno. From there they saw the waters of the basin.


The lake is also known by the name "Emerald" because of its clear waters and green. These waters were born thanks to the melting of a glacier.


How to get to the Todos los Santos Lake?
To get to Lake Todos Los Santos, you can drive, along Route 225. This is taken from Puerto Varas, a town which is reached by Route 5. They are about an hour from Puerto Varas. In Ensenada is the junction that leads to the lake. The deviation is marked, but says "Petrohué", where is the All Saints.


Those who enjoy photography, you will find breathtaking landscapes, principally through the mountains, which are three volcanoes, Osorno, Pointed and Tronador. All the beautiful lake guarding. The surrounding vegetation is also worth of photographs.


Another major attraction of Lake Todos Los Santos, and which is visited each year by foreign tourists, is the town of Peulla. From Petrohué can take a boat that is offered to all tourists, which crosses the lake to get to this place, which is on route Lakes Crossing. From here you can get to Bariloche, Argentina. A wonderful tour, recommended for those who love nature, ancient forests and pristine. This trip can be even taken from Puerto Varas, Lake Llanquihue touring, then the Todos Los Santos, after passing through Peulla, sail on Lake Nahuel Huapi in Argentina.

Petrohué breaks is also a major attraction for tourists. On a clear day, you can see the marvelous spectacle with the volcano background Pointed. The more adventurous can take a trip across the river and enjoy rafting.
