Information about Rancagua

Rancagua is a city located 84 km. to the south of Santiago, has approximately 243,000 inhabitants and the main economy is agriculture.

The city of Rancagua is in the basin of Rancagua and its extension is from Angostura de Pelequen to Angostura de Paine, this is in the middle of the Cordillera de la Costa and the Andes, Rancagua is also known for its vitivinicolas valleys being the valley of the Cachapoal one of the most important of the zone.

History of Rancagua

As far as the history of Rancagua, we can say that the first inhabitants of this city were the Picunches and Diaguitas and that the foundation of the city was made 5 of October of 1743 with the name of Villa Santa Cruz de Triana.
