Every year, starting in February 1960, the Quinta Vergara Park, located in the heart of Viña del Mar, has witnessed the realization of the Viña del Mar International Song Festival. For this purpose, several Scenarios have been designed and built over the years to reach the current Amphitheater.

The First Festival in Viña was in February 1960 had as Stage , a wooden dais with backdrops and a hexagonal roof. It was located next to the Palace of Fine Arts in Quinta Vergara, among the plants and ornamental trees of the Park, with enough space only for the Orchestra of the Municipal Casino that was directed by Izidor Handler, for presenters, the jury and for the singers of the competition and the show. In as much, the public was located in folding wooden chairs and some benches of the same enclosure or simply of standing in the best location that could be obtained, in the gardens and meadows.
