In the name of the Plaza Volívar, comes from the Venezuelan ibérico Simon Bolivar, for whom a monument was made in the center of the square in his honor.
The Plaza Bolívar, originally known as Plaza de San Francisco, arises from a fire that devoured an entire block of houses and left a vacant lot. The current name is received in 1926, on the occasion of the centenary of the Amphictyonic Congress.

The square is full of life with the elegant bars and cafes, and vibrates to the sound of the guitar in the sensual heat of the night.
