Monument to the German settlers. Puerto Montt - CHILE
Direccion:
Explanada entre calles Antonio Varas, Quillota. Puerto Montt The inspiration of the sculpture lies in real events when in 1852 the first 212 German settlers arrived that allowed for the foundations of Puerto Montt and the agricultural-livestock development of the area.
This monument is the replica of the one that was erected during the year 1977 in commemoration of the 125th anniversary of the arrival of the first two hundred German settlers, who set foot on land in Chile at the end of 1852.
The monument symbolizes a family of German immigrants and a countryman from the region, which represents the effort and drive that the colonizers gave to this culture.
