Located next to the Lacerda elevator and the city port, this place is an amalgam of handicraft shops and typical products of the area.
In total there are a little more than 200 stores and a little more than 8,500 square meters, the stores are full of original details, antiques, jewelry, precious stones.
Opened in 1912, the Model Market arose from the need for a supply center in the Lower City of Salvador. Between Customs and the Largo da Conceição, it was a commercial center where it was possible to acquire items as varied as vegetables, cereals, animals, cigars, cachazas and items for Candomblé.
