San Fernandos story begins in the eighteenth century, the President of the Captaincy General of Chile, Jose Antonio Manso de Velasco was proposed to the task of creating villages for which he sent to landowners throughout the territory over an extended Memorial, requesting land required for appropriate purposes.
Of the ranchers in the jurisdiction of Colchagua, said Don Juan de Leon and Jose Jimenez Hurtado de Mendoza and his wife Dona Ana Maria Morales de Albornoz, who donated for this purpose, the pasture of the "chakras" with more than 450 blocks belonging to Estancia "Lircunlauta" in whose houses had their residence.
