This chain of hills covered by native forest stretches for about 25 kilometers. It has more than 250 kilometers of hiking trails.
A complex network of circuits (147 in total) that manages to cover all styles and types of walks.
To the west of this chain, the hills descend to the popular black sand beaches (Karekare, Piha, Te Henga (Bethells) and Muriwai) and the turbulent Tasman Sea.
