Considered one of the most impressive Amazonian paradises in Peru, Lake Sandoval is a magical destination with great diverse natural wealth, this is a wonderful place that especially has the charm that conquers its visitors such as sunsets / sunrises, canoe tour , walks, etc.
ItineraryDay 1: Puerto Maldonado - Sandoval Lake Reserve.Pass By: Lago Sandoval, Tambopata National Reserve Peru
We will pick you up from the airport /Bus Stations with transfer and we will go to our office where we can leave the luggage that is not necessary for the trip.Then,we will go to the port,where we will board a boat outside and navigate the Madre de Dios River until reaching the control point of the Reserve,in this place we will register and make the entrance to the Sandoval lake and walking 5 km in the forest,until we reach a small canal where we board canoes paddle and across the lake and then reaching at port and lodge where we will be accommodated in our comfortable rooms ,After lunch we wil taking our canoe paddle,where it is possible to see the giant otter (river wolf), black alligator, shanshos (prehistoric birds),turtles and many birds et.Then we will return to the lodge for dinner,after dinner we will visitto the lake in the canoe with our lanterns we wil be able to see black alligators and otther species and then will return our comfortable lodge private room with shower.

Day 2: Sandoval Lake – Giant Otter Observation – Exploration /Flora .Stop At: Lago Sandoval, Tambopata National Reserve Peru
A pre-dawn wake-up call will enable us to be on the lake for sunrise and a hopeful encounter with the family of Giant Otters who frequent the lake and are most active at this time of day. Sandoval Lake offers abundant wildlife including over 40 species of birds resident to its lake margins, most of the fish-eating water birds around the lake actively fish in the early morning as well, and this outing should provide excellent views, photograph from the paddled canoes.
After breakfast we set off into the cool under story of the tall virgin forest to see some towering wild Brazil Nut trees and a demonstration of how our hosts collect, open and commercialize this important natural product.
After lunch we board the catamaran to explore the eastern part of the lake, where have opportunity to see five species of monkeys who live in the forest near the lake, such as the Brown Capuchin Monkey and Squirrel Monkey. We will leave after dinner a short night walk through the primary forest.

Day 3: Sandoval Lake - Palm Lick-Tour Canoe ( Canopy Tower ).Pass By: Lago Sandoval, Tambopata National Reserve Peru
After a dawn breakfast, we will cross the lake we by canoe we explorer virging forest of the Mauritia ,this place is very special by this birds how parrots,parakeets and large and small macaws that can be observed using dead Mauritia palm trees, some of them are resident nesters (Yellow headed Parrot,Mealy Parrot, Blue headed Parrot, Scarlet Macaw, blue and Yellow Macaw, Red and Green Macaw, Chestnut fronted Macaw, Dusky headed Parakeet,Red bellied Macaw, Cobalt winged Parakeet,).Returning from the macaw show we will cross the lake to explore a primary forest trail and admire the impressive ancient rainforest trees and lianas.As we walk, the forest will be brought to life as your guide explains the ecology of the rain forest and its diverse flora and fauna. We return for lunch, and then will pack to go our next lodge ,Which is on the river madre de dios where we´ll see another amazing sun set on the river madre de dios. After dinner,we´ll go on a short night hike through the forest.

Day 4: Parrot Clay Lick to Puerto Maldonado - Airport /Cusco/ LimaStop At: Lago Sandoval, Tambopata National Reserve Peru
Early in the morning we will take the boat to visit the parrot clay lick, a wall of earth (clay) on one side of the Madre de Dios River, where different species come down to the wall to eat this special e essential clay needed for the metabolism, there we can observe more than five species of parrots such as, blue headed parrot, dusky headed parakeet, mealy parrot and the elusive blue headed macaw, other macaw like the chestnut fronted can be observed too. We´re going to see different tipes of parrots than we saw at the lake Sandoval. We´ll return to puerto Maldonado to have breakfast.
Please not that the program may vary slightly so as to maximize your wildlife sightings, depending on the reports of our experienced naturalist guides based at the lodge.
