The Tijuca National Park is in the city and state of Rio de Janeiro, it is the second smallest of the Brazilian national parks, and is enclosed in the center of the city.

The Floresta da Tijuca National Park, has almost 4,000 hectares, is the largest urban forest in the world and plays a key role in the life of the city as it preserves the water sources that supply it, controls both atmospheric and acoustic, prevents erosion, prevents floods, regulates the climate and, of course, gives shelter and protection to hundreds of species of flora and fauna.

It was created in 1961, is part of the Rio de Janeiro Biosphere Reserve and is the most visited National Park in all of Brazil.

The Tijuca National Park is divided into four sectors that house the highest peaks of Rio de Janeiro and one of its main points of tourist attraction, the Christ the Redeemer of Corcovado.
