www.maracana.com Opened in 1950 and with capacity for more than 73,000 spectators, the Maracana Stadium is one of the most famous soccer temples in the world and the largest in Brazil.
The stadium is declared a cultural heritage of Brazil and, as a curiosity, has a kind of walk of fame inaugurated during its fiftieth anniversary in 2000 and where the best footballers in the world, such as Pele, have left the mark of their feet.
The stadium offers guided tours every day (except party) from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. To get there, the most practical thing is to take the metro to the Maracaná station, which leads directly to the stadium.
