The Wildcat is a small feline, and the wild ancestor of domestic cats.

Wild cats are generally of more robust constitution than their domestic relatives. They tend to be predominantly gray-brown, brindle, lighter and ocher-colored in the belly and lower parts, with four longitudinal black stripes on the forehead, which will converge on a line that runs along the entire spine.

The specimens of the European subspecies (Felis silvestris silvestris) have a thicker hair coat and the tail more populated and wider than that of the domestic cat, with its black tip and at least two wide black strips next to it.

Dimensions: head and body, 51 to 76 cm; tail, 26 to 31 cm.
Weight: 2.8 to 5.8 kg.
Its general appearance is that of a very robust domestic tabby cat, with the proportionally larger head and the shorter and thicker tail, rounded at the tip.
