The hand or Man emerging to life is a sculpture of five fingers partially submerged in sand, located at stop 1 of the Brava beach in Punta del Este, Uruguay.

It is a famous sculpture, converted into a symbol for Punta del Este since its completion in February 1982, as well as becoming one of the most recognizable landmarks in Uruguay.

As soon as it became one of the most distinctive symbols of Punta del Este, it was the initial mold to create other works, which today are exhibited in several countries. Similar hands and the same author can be seen in Madrid (since 1987), in the Atacama Desert (1992) and in Venice (1995), with the same force of magic milestone.
