The National Gallery of Jamaica is the most important art collection in the Caribbean country of Kingston and all of Jamaica.
The National Gallery of Jamaica was built in 1974 and is home to the most complete and important collection of Jamaican art worldwide. Here you will find both the large permanent collection and the temporary exhibitions of contemporary art.
The gallery houses several important works, mostly from Jamaican artists, including Mallica "Kapo" Reynolds, Baugh Cecil, Albert Huie, Carl Abrahams, and Manley Edna. The National Gallery also exhibits works by various international artists and traveling exhibitions. It offers research material on Jamaican art and culture, and coordinates educational programs.
