The Goethe House is considered to be the building that extends along the Frauenplan square and dominates the square.
This house was built between 1707 and 1709 by the curator and media trader Georg Caspar Helmershausen.

Since 1998, Goethe's house is part of the classic Weimar architectural complex ?, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Johann Wolfgang was a German poet, novelist, playwright and scientist, a fundamental contributor to Romanticism, a movement he deeply influenced.
Goethe's best work is Faust, which has become a classic work of Universal Literature. The first version, the original Urfaust or Faust, was finished in 1773.
