In the heart of Belfast, the capital of Northern Ireland, we find this fabulous building that wants to keep the memory of the former glory of the British Empire alive.
We just have to go to Donegall Square, a huge rectangular square with beautiful gardens where the inhabitants of Belfast try to warm their bones in the sun, and from which the main streets of the city radiate, to find the jewel I am talking about, the impressive Cityhall.

This imposing building is the most recognizable in the city and was built between 1898 and 1906. It is located in the heart of the city and its enormous dimensions are surprising for a city of 330,000 inhabitants. It was a project of Queen Victoria, who wanted to demonstrate the greatness and prosperity of Belfast. Every night they illuminate it with colored lights and out of respect for the Irish republicans the British flag is not flown.
