El Yali National Reserve is created through Supreme Decree No. 41 of May 1996, with an area of ​​520.37 hectares. It is located in the municipality of Santo Domingo, province of San Antonio, Valparaíso Region.

The Yali It is a wetland, that is, an area composed of different bodies of water. It is one of the sites with the highest concentration of birds in the central zone of Chile.

The Yali has been considered as an important nesting site for several species of birds in the central zone of Chile3 and a place of protection, rest and feeding for migratory species, this has made it the area with the highest concentration of birds in the area. center of the country, counting more than 115 species.

Trails and places to visit in the Yali
El Yali National Reserve has 3 sectors to visit only on foot, which lasts approximately 3 hours. The places or sectors that you can visit are:
- Matanza lagoon;
- Laguna Colejuda;
- Coastal lagoon or Albufera.
