La Tigra National Park was declared in 1958 as a forest reserve and made it a national park in 1980. As a natural area it has an extension of 329 square kilometers, called for that extension the "lungs of the capital"; cloud forest, several species abound among the 200 birds; of mammals felines, and others.
La Tigra is a cloud forest with an area of 328 square kilometers, the main objective of this national park is ecological conservation and maintenance of hydrological potential
