Information about Zapallar

At first Zapallar part of the Hacienda Catapilco. Its owner, Don Francisco Javier Ovalle, built a winery in the bay, which would serve as a residence during their stay in the place. At the creek, embarked Ovalle production finances.

The years between 1907 and 1924 were of intense activity and growth in the spa, built a large number of summer houses, which were held in various styles: colonial, neogothic, rustic and so on. There is also the huge mansion of Don Carlos Werner, and the house Bavarian-style house built Hildesheim-commissioned by Mari­a Luisa Mac-Clure.

During these years important advances were made in infrastructure and public spaces. Rides were built, down to the beach, etc.. In 1917 he built the Church, against which, by mid-century, was installed a battery of brass that belonged to the Order of Poor Clares and dating back to 1682.
