Information about Flores

Flores is a municipality that together with the City of Santa Elena de la Cruz, make up the departmental capital of Petén, located 480 km from Guatemala City in the north of the Republic of Guatemala.
According to the National Institute of Statistics, for 2005 the population was 37,933 inhabitants.

The Island of Flores and Santa Elena de la Cruz form a city, which together with the central area of the municipality of San Benito, make up an area of approximately 100,000 inhabitants, and which concentrate the largest economic activities such as commerce, tourism and the industry of the Department.
