Information about Panguipulli

The city and commune of Panguipulli, which in Mapudungun means the spirit of pumas, is a city located in the Province of Valdivia, in the XIV Region of Los Ríos.

Panguipulli has around 35,000 inhabitants and borders the municipalities of Villarrica, Los Lagos, Lanco and Futrono, as well as the Argentine Republic.
Panguipulli is also known as the City of Las Rozas.

How to get to Panguipulli;
From Argentina we arrive at Panguipulli through the Hua Hum pass, taking route 203 that brings us to the beautiful Pirihueico lake.
From Chile take the Panamericana to Lanco and there you will take a secondary school up to Panaguipulli, traveling 49 km.

In Bus:
There are buses all year round from Santiago to Panguipulli with daily departures, the trip lasts around 10 hours.

History of Panguipulli

The Mapuches were the first inhabitants in Panguipulli, the town officially founded in 1946.
