Information about Paracas
Paracas is a city located 260 kilometers south of Lima, it is located next to the Paracas National Reserve, within the department of Ica.
The temperature and climate of Paracas are very friendly, having an annual average of 22º C with a majority of sunny days, which makes it an exceptional tourist destination for the inhabitants of Peru.
From the port of Paracas, excursions begin to visit Ballestas Islands and Chincha Islands, which are part of the Paracas attractions.
Paracas in Quechua means: para = rain and aco = sand. Paraaco, would mean luvia of sand, and as it was Castilianized by the Spaniards, it was called Paracas.
