Whilst staying in Armenia, you simply cannot miss the opportunity of visiting one of the country’s most renowned landmarks – the beautiful lake Sevan. Merely an hour’s drive from the capital city of Yerevan, Sevan is situated at the height of 1900m above sea level and surrounded by a vast chain of mountains. Noratus is a village which is home to the largest collection of the Armenian Khachkars. According to the legend, Hayk – the ancestor of all Armenians – ordered his people to decorate every single stone in Armenia, which is why you will see some 3000 of these decorated stones, depicting various stories from different ages. Jermuk is positioned within forests and mountains of Aragatsotn place, on a little plateau, 2080 m above sea level; the plateau is partitioned into two parts by the Arpa river gorge. Jermuk is widely recognized with its curable water. Jermuk waters were reliable means of treatment of numerous illnesses for hundreds of years.

Hayravank is a 9th to 12th-century Armenian monastery located just northeast of the village of Hayravank along the southwest shores of Lake Sevan in the Gegharkunik Province of Armenia. The monastic complex consists of a church, chapel, and gavit.

Noratus cemetery, also spelled Noraduz, is a medieval cemetery with many early khachkars located in the village of Noratus, Gegharkunik marz near Gavar and Lake Sevan, 90 km north of Yerevan. The cemetery has the largest cluster of khachkars in Armenia

Many think of the Silk Road as a single trail but in fact, there were dozens of routes connecting East and West, most by land, some by sea. They crossed east to west and north and south, the most popular tracing river valleys and lakeshores as they wound their way to their final destinations. You can trace the Silk Road in Armenia by following its caravanserai, or inns; medieval stopping points where caravan riders and their pack animals spent the night. The Selim Pass Caravanserai is a valuable example of these inns along the Armenian Silk Road.

The most picturesque waterfall in Armenia is Jermuk Waterfall located in the health resort of Jermuk. The waterfall is located at an altitude of 2000 meters above the sea level. Jermuk Waterfall is of 70 meters height and it is considered the second highest waterfall in Armenia.
