Stop At: Bergen, Bergen, Hordaland, Western Norway

We leave the last hotel in Bergen, the Hotel Thon Orion, at 07:50 and make our way to Voss. The train to Myrdal leaves there at 09:51. The journey time to Voss is about one and a half hours, so there is some time in Voss before the train leaves.
You will travel along the banks of the Sørfjorden, enjoying stunning views of the fjords and mountains. The road winds its way through lush forests and charming small towns but also through many tunnels.
When you arrive in Voss, the driver will give you your ticket for the ferry from Flåm to Gudvangen at 3:00 p.m. Please keep it carefully, otherwise the captain won't let you on board ;-)
Arrival inVoss about 09:20 the train to Myrdal departs at 09:51.

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Voss Municipality, Voss Municipality, Hordaland, Western Norway

The bus stops right opposite the station and if everything goes according to plan you now have about half an hour to explore the area. There is a gas station on the far side opposite the station, the restrooms are on the far side and they were still free at the time of writing.
If you feel like it and the weather permits, you can get a coffee from the petrol station shop and sit on a bench by the lake.
Or you can walk into town and take a look at the 13th century church. There is a small supermarket opposite the church. Another alternative is the cafeteria in the Parkhotel. Here it is worth taking a look at the ceiling, where a toy train has been installed, which sometimes makes its rounds. But please always keep the departure time of the train at 09:51 in mind!

Stop At: Myrdal Station, Rallarvegen I, Myrdal 5718 Norway

The journey from Voss to Myrdal takes 54 minutes, arrival at Myrdal 10:36.
You have to get off the train in Myrdal ! The train to Flåm leaves on the opposite side at 10:41. If the train is delayed, the Flåmsbana will wait for your train to arrive.

Descending from the heights of Myrdal the Flåm Railway takes you on a thrilling ride through one of the steepest railroad stretches in the world. As you wind down the mountainside you will pass through some of the most stunning scenery in Norway. The train runs through numerous tunnels each offering breathtaking views of waterfalls, valleys, and snow-capped mountains. The highlight of the journey is the Kjosfossen waterfall, where the train stops briefly to allow passengers to take in the majestic sight and listen to the thundering sounds of the water cascading down the mountainside. The ride to Flåm takes about an hour, and is an unforgettable adventure that you won't want to miss.
ARRIVAL TIME IN FLÅM IS 11:39 AM THE FERRY DEP. AT 3:00 PM You now have more than three hours of free time in Flåm and you may be wondering why we left Bergen so early. The reason is the train in Voss, the next train unfortunately leaves too late and then we would not have time for the lunch break in Flåm.

Stop At: Flam, Flam, Aurland Municipality, Sogn og Fjordane, Western Norway

There are minibuses in Flåm that offer a tour to the Stagastein viewpoint. The trip there and back takes about 1.5 hours. However, there may be traffic jams on the route up to the viewpoint and you will miss your ferry.
Flåm is a charming village nestled in the innermost part of the Aurlandsfjord, a tributary of the stunning Sognefjord. The village itself is small, but the natural beauty surrounding it is truly awe-inspiring. But you will certainly be hungry now and there are plenty of options for your lunch break. The Furukroa restaurant and café is highly recommended. Just keep walking along the fjord to the right and you'll find it at the end.
In the high season there are several stalls on the small market square in Flåm. You will also find a bakery there, which also offers pizza. There is also a microbrewery there, which is definitely worth a look. If you like, you can also spend your time in a huge souvenir store and there is also a supermarket, which is usually open on Sundays.

The Ferry to Bergen departs at 15:30

At 20:45 your ferry will arrive at Strandkai Terminal in the center of Bergen, right next to the fish market. Unfortunately, we cannot offer you transportation back to your hotel, as the permitted travel time does not allow the bus driver to do so. The rules are very strict, the controls are very frequent and the penalties for the driver and also for the bus companies are drastic. Please understand this.
However, most hotels are within walking distance. Cabs will also be waiting for you on arrival. Please remember that the kitchens in most restaurants close at 9 pm. So why not stop off at one of the many restaurants nearby for dinner and round off this wonderful day :-)

The bus has a sign with the Jaunt Norway logo and another one with the label 'Flåmsbana/ Nærøyfjord Ferry' on the windshield. The bus departs from the following hotels at the indicated times. If you miss the bus at your hotel, please inform us using the phone number on the ticket and make your way to the Thon Hotel Orion, the last stop in Bergen. The bus leaves there at 07:50 AM. If your hotel is not on the list, please go to the Storsenter at 07:24 or the Tourist Information at 07:39, or to one of the other hotels on this list
