ItineraryDay 1: Trelew Airport/ Puerto MadrynStop At: Almirante Marcos A. Zar Airport, Trelew, Chubut Province, Argentina
Upon arrival at Trelew airport, you will have a shared transfer to your hotel in Puerto Madryn (approximately 1-hour drive).
Puerto Madryn is the closest city to the famous Peninsula Valdes, where the Southern Right Whale comes to mate and also to feed its calves. Thousands of travellers travel every year to take part in this natural show, which only happens during some months of the year!

Stop At: Puerto Madryn, Chubut Province, Argentina
Once arrival at Puerto Madryn, you will have the rest of the day free. Our recommendation: Visit the Ecocentro, a museum on the coast where you can learn about the marine life of the region. Discover what it feels like to be inside the belly of a whale in one of the museum rooms, and enjoy the most beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean from the museum tower. The Ecocentro is just a 30-minute walk from the centre, so make the most of the day and walk along the beach! (no activities included)

Day 2: Puerto Madryn/ Península Valdés + Whale Watching in Golfo NuevoStop At: Peninsula Valdes, Puerto Madryn Argentina
After breakfast, you will be picked up at your hotel and led on a full day tour to the Valdes Peninsula (shared service). On the way to this UNESCO World Heritage site (entrance fee not included), you will cross an incredibly narrow strip of land with sea on both sides and visit the Isthmus Ameghino Interpretation Centre.

Pass By: Caleta Valdes, Puerto Piramides Argentina
Further along, you will arrive at Caleta Valdes, home to a colony of sea elephants at certain times of the year. Then, you will also visit Punta Cantor. **Lunch is not included
Stop At: Puerto Piramides, Puerto Piramides, Province of Chubut, Patagonia
After admiring those natural landscapes and marine fauna you’ll continue along the road as it drops suddenly down to golden cliffs overlooking a bright blue bay and the small village of Puerto Piramides. From here, you will take a 2-hour shared boat trip around the Golfo Nuevo bay and watch immense creatures gliding past, the ones you were expecting to see: The Southern Right Whales. The peninsula navigation allows you to get unusually close to those mammals. You will even get wet if they jump! At the end of the tour, you will be driven back to your hotel in Puerto Madryn.
**Note: Tour available from June to Mid December. **The route of this tour is about 400 km total, half of it in gravel roads. **The navigation is subject to weather conditions.

Day 3: Puerto Madryn/ Penguins in Punta TomboStop At: Punta Tombo, Chubut Province, Argentina
Today, after breakfast, you will be picked up and driven about 3 hours south to a full-day visit to the largest colony of Magellanic penguins in South America (shared service, entrance fee not included). The colony’s population reaches over half a million birds during the peak season, and one of the greatest features of this reserve is the fact that you can walk among the penguins and observe their habits. For 2 hours, you’ll have the opportunity to see how they feed their babies, defend their territory, build their nests or to watch their characteristic comedic waddle in and out of the sea (depending on the time of year we visit the reserve, we will see different life cycles of this animal).
Take some rest at a nearby bar where, if you want, can take a quick lunch (not included) before leaving heading Punta Tombo Interpretive Center. There, you will learn more about the life of Magellanic penguins.

At the end of the day, you will be able to choose between visiting the Paleontological Museum in the city of Trelew, the Pueblo de Luis Regional Museum or walking on Trelew town before driving back to your hotel in Puerto Madryn. **Museums entrance fees not included

You can return whenever you want (we’ll welcome you with open arms), or… continue your trip throughout the rest of Patagonia.
