Mt. Pilatus self-guided trip by cable car

Visit Lucerne’s landmark mountain Mt. Pilatus, with a 4-hour cable car and fondue tasting experience. Start at Valley Station in Kriens, and enjoy a 30-minute aerial 'Panorama Gondola' ride, suspended cable propelled car over a pre-Alpine landscape to reach Fräkmüntegg. Here, you'll transfer to the aerial cableway known as the 'Dragon Ride.' After another five minutes, arrive 7,000 feet above sea level (2,132 meters). Soak up the panoramic views over the lake and Alps. Then return on 'Dragon Ride' to Fräkmüntegg for Swiss fondue. After this Swiss lunch, take the 'Panorama Gondola' back to Kriens. Small-group tour includes round-trip cable car ride from Kriens to Mount Pilatus, fondue tasting with pairings, and is limited to a maximum group size of 8 people.

Start your trip at Kriens valley station and enjoy the 30 minutes ride with the panorama-gondola from Kriens to Fräkmüntegg, where in winter, there are sledging routes and snowshoe trails from Fräkmüntegg down to Krienseregg; the rental station is at the valley station in Kriens.
At Fräkmüntegg you will change to the aerial cableway "Dragon Ride" and reach the summit Pilatus Kulm at 2132 meters above sea level in 5 minutes. At the top of Lucerne's landmark mountain, you can enjoy the great panoramic view or discover the Dragon World with its interactive games about Pilatus' dragon legends.
At Krienseregg, Fräkmüntegg, and Pilatus Kulm you can try some local specialties in one of the restaurants before heading back to Kriens by cable car.
