Full Moon Hike - Calderon Hondo Volcano, Lajares

Have you ever observed the Sunset and Moon rise from the top of a Volcano? This is a unique experience and not to be missed! We reach the crater of the Volcano to observe the Sun setting on the West coast. We then put our attention to the East for the Moon rise. Learn about astro archeology and the history and culture of this ancient volcanic island as we ascend!

Itinerary

We set off about an hour before the Sunset, reaching the top to observe the Sun setting on the West and the Full Moon rising on the East. This is a 3-hour hiking experience, stopping to enjoy the views and talking about the history, culture, and astroarchaeology of this ancient volcanic island. We descend in the Blue Hour, observing the brightest stars visible under the glare of the Moon.

If you suffer from vertigo this will be a challenge for you, but one worth taking!

We collect within a 5km radius of Corralejo.

Times vary as we are dependent on the time that the Sun is setting and the Full Moon rising. We start the Walk roughly 1.5hours before the Sunset. You will be notified of the exact start time once you have booked.
