We will start our tour at your hotel and go early to the most famous fountain in the world, the Trevi Fountain, while there are not a huge number of people there. You will see the largest arena of the ancient period, designed for chariot races, accommodating 250,000 spectators, located on the slopes of the two Roman hills - Palantine and Aventine, as well as the imperial palace on Palatine Hill, from which the emperor himself watched the race. The chariot races had not only the function of entertainment, but also had an important aspect of socialization and propaganda of power. This is why the horse-racing arenas were much larger than the amphitheaters.
