Welcome to the land of lakes and volcanoes! You arrive at Managua Airport and take the shuttle to your hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to LeónPass By: Leon, Leon, Leon Department
You are transferred to León, a Spanish-colonial town north of Managua. Optional tours.

Day 3: Discover León City and its marvels! Stop At: Leon, Leon, Leon Department
Your guide takes you on a walking tour through the historic part of town, home to more than 12 colonial period churches, each one unique in its design from tiny parish size chapels to the mighty Cathedral, Central America's largest church. On route you visit murals dating back to the revolution, baroque and neoclassical churches and an art museum with works of internationally renowned artists, both classic and contemporary. You are invited to explore the local fruit and vegetable market, before the tour ends with remarkable vistas from the cathedral´s picturesque rooftop

Day 4: Transfer Granada via Masaya regionStop At: Masaya, Masaya, Masaya Department
The tour starts at Masaya Volcano National Park. Your driver will bring you to the summit of the volcano, where you can peek inside the active crater. Your next stop is Masaya´s artisan market, where you can purchase quality Nicaraguan handicrafts.

You are transferred to Granada, a beautiful colonial town situated next to the Lake of Nicaragua for a two night stay.

Day 5: Explore Las Isletas de GranadaStop At: Las Isletas, Nicaragua
Situated at the foot of Mombacho volcano, the Las Isletas archipelago consists of small forest-covered islands, formed by a volcanic eruption over twenty thousand years ago. You are transferred to the harbor where you meet the captain and board a motorboat. During the tour, your guide points out exotic local flora and fauna before making a stop at one of the islands. Next you visit San Pablo fort, built in the 18th century to protect Granada against English pirates. Altogether a recommended experience, providing valuable insight in the natural habitat and history of the Las Isletas archipelago.

Day 6: Isla de Ometepe Biosphere ReservePass By: Isla de Ometepe, Isla de Ometepe, Rivas Department
You are transferred to San Jorge where you get on the boat to your next destination: Isla de Ometepe. Here you have a hike in a nature reserve.
Stop At: Laguna Charco Verde, Isla de Ometepe Nicaragua
Ometepe´s two volcanoes. The area consists of a lagoon, a beach, and a forest.
The reserve is named Charco Verde (Green Puddle) due to the green color of the lagoon. Many birds find shelter in this part of the island so birdwatching enthusiasts should keep an eye out!
The hike is not strenuous and leads up a hill, from where you have nice views on the surroundings.

Day 7: Isla de OmetepePass By: Isla de Ometepe, Isla de Ometepe, Rivas Department
Delight your free day at the island by joining optional activities or relaxing at the lake.

You take the ferry back and continue to the Laguna de Apoyo. Rest of the day at leisure to enjoy the tranquility and natural beauty.
