Day 1: Auckland – Waitomo Caves – Hobbiton - Rotorua

Travelling by road from Auckland to Rotorua via the Waitomo Glowworm caves, which includes a guided tour of the caves including a boat through the glowworm grotto.

Stop At: Hobbiton Movie Set, 501 Buckland Road Matamata, Hinuera 3472 New Zealand
head to the world famous location of Hobbiton: a farm that has been transformed for The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit movie set. See fairytale landscapes of the Shire as well as 44 hobbit holes, the Mill and double arch bridge, the party tree, and visit the Green Dragon Inn. Take a photo at the door of Bilbo’s house and learn about some interesting stories and trivia from enthusiastic guides.

Day 2: Rotorua - Te Puia & afternoon at Leisure

Stop At: Te Puia, Hemo Road, Rotorua New Zealand
Guided tour of Te Puia and experience Rotorua's famous Maori culture and geothermal activity with a tour of the Whakarewarewa Thermal Valley - a place where mud pools bubble and boil and geysers shoot steam high into the air.

Day 3: Rotorua – Lake Taupo – Wellington

After being picked up from your accommodation, travel from Rotorua to Wellington by road via Lake Taupo, the Central Plateau (home to several active volcanoes), Palmerston North and the Kapiti Coast, arriving in Wellington by late afternoon where you will be dropped off at your evening accommodation.
