Interactive Batik Workshop and Lessons in Sri Lanka

Hands-on Batik Experience, which is a very engaging and interactive step-by-step session covering all the aspects of creating a Batik Cloth. You will get to create your own design and take it as a souvenir. You will work with traditional tools and will get the opportunity to witness how the batik instructor who also is a batik creator works on a day to day basis. Given that the group size is small you will get an opportunity to ask questions. The instructor will personally guide each participant where they would require help. This activity will be accompanied by a wholesome Sri Lankan meal specially prepared using seasonal veggies.

Itinerary

This unique Batik workshop will be conducted in a very interactive and engaging manner. It will give you a deep understanding of Traditional Wax Batik & Batik painting technology. The end-to-end process of picking a fabric drawing and finally completing the waxwork will be covered, with the attendees getting an opportunity to try out all the relevant steps on their own under the watchful guidance of our instructor.

What to Expect

Hands On Experience:
You will get to create your own Batik Cloth under the watchful guidance of the Batik Expert

Traditional Setting:
Our Workshop is conducted by a very experienced couple. They have been in the industry for many decades. Their home studio is nice and cozy and has all the traditional equipment

Tea and Lunch:
A refreshing herbal tea and a traditional Sri Lankan Rice and Curry prepared using local vegetables will be served
