2 Days/ 1 Night Mikumi Tanzania national park safari

Mikumi National Park is known as the ideal park for travelers who have less time to visit other more interior game reserves. It is popular because one can still have a similar experience and see wildlife such as lions, zebras, antelopes and hippos without travelling to northern Tanzania parks. It is easily accessible from Dar es Salaam or even from Zanzibar.
Mikumi is considered Tanzania's 4th largest national park. Your safari experience begins with a drive from Dar es Salaam towards Mikumi National Park for about 6 hours. En-route you will get a chance to see a lot of traditional and authentic African towns and villages. You can make stops to buy local artifacts and interact with the Masai tribe.
If starting from Zanzibar, you will need to cross the ocean channel with an Azam ferry boat early in the morning. We will pick you up from the ferry station in Dar es Salaam and start your trip to Mikumi. We will make all the arrangements for you including hotel pickup.

Itinerary

Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Mikumi.

Stop At: Mikumi National Park, Mikumi National Park, Morogoro Region
Pick-up from Dar es Salaam at 7:30 a.m.and drive to Mikumi National Park. You will reach sometime in the afternoon and proceed to enter the park gates and enjoy unlimited game drives. Stop for lunch enroute in Morogoro town.
Mikumi is about 283 km west of Dar es Salaam.
Here you will get an opportunity to see the most fascinating animals including elephants, lions, gazelles, Zebras, Giraffes, Impalas, Hyena, Buffalo, Wildebeest, one of the biggest antelope in the world Eland, Hartebeest, Crocodile, Lizard, snakes and other residents.

In the evening you will check into the lodge for Dinner and overnight stay. Camp Bastian lodge is complete with a swimming pool and is one of the best lodges in Mikumi.

Day 2: Mikumi National Park- Dar es salaam

Stop At: Mikumi National Park, Mikumi National Park, Morogoro Region
On day two, you will have your breakfast at the lodge and then enter the national park gates for more animal viewing. The morning Game Drive can be done up to 3 hours before you start your journey back to Dar es Salaam.

Mikumi National Park is part of the larger Selous ecosystem together with the Selous Game Reserve and harbours remarkable numbers of bird species and animals. The animals that can be spotted at Mikumi NP include giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, impalas, warthogs, zebras, wildebeests, elands, lions and many other antelopes.
