Day 2: TAIPEI - HUALIEN

Stop At: Heping Island GeoPark, No.360, Ping-Yi Rd., Zhongzheng District, Keelung 202 Taiwan
Heping Island was called Sheliao Island in the past. It is located at the north of Taiwan. Heping Bridge connects the island to Keelung City. In 1626, the Spanish army built castles, churches and fortresses, preparing to do business with China and Japan. The castle on the southwest is called San Salvador, the saint savior. This is the first and currently the only castle in Keelung. During the Spanish occupation, Heping Island had busy trading activities with Southeast Asia. After World War II, the island was renamed Heping Island. Today, it is a famous tourist attraction.

Jiufen is a district located in Ruifang, New Taipei City, Taiwan. The entire town is situated on a mountainside, giving rise to its unique hilly and tiered architectural landscape. Starting in the 1990s, it gained significant attention after being featured in the film 'A City of Sadness' and the Japanese animated film 'Spirited Away' by Hayao Miyazaki, both of which showcased its distinctive old-style buildings, sloping terrain, and atmosphere. This exposure revitalized the area and turned it into a popular tourist attraction, drawing both domestic and international visitors.

Day 3: HUALIEN - TAITUNG

Stop At: Taroko National Park, No.291, Fushi Fushi Vil., Xiulin 97253 Taiwan
Taroko National Park, Alpine valleys are the landscapes that make Taroko National Park famous all over the world. There are high mountains in the territory, and the terrain gradually slopes eastward from the spine mountain range on the west side. Half of the area of ​​the park is covered by mountains over 2,000 meters in length, and there are as many as 27 of them listed in the "Hundred Mountains of Taiwan". The famous mountains in the area are Qingshui Mountain, Hehuan Peak, Qilai Mountain, Nanhu Mountain, and Central Sharp Mountain.

Guangfu Sugar Factory, Hualien Tourist Sugar Factory was an important sugar factory in Eastern Taiwan in the early days, and now it has been transformed into a tourist cultural park. The Japanese-style dormitory group of the employees of the sugar factory in the past is still well preserved, and it is the only remaining Japanese-style wooden structure building group. It is a good place that you must not miss when visiting Hualien!

The Hualien-Taitung Rift Valley, running along Provincial Highway 9, stretches for 158 kilometers, connecting Hualien and Taitung. Throughout the valley, you'll encounter orchards, tea plantations, rice fields, pastures, daylily fields, rapeseed flower fields, and more. The most famous attractions in the area include Liyu Lake, Xiuguluan River, Sixty Stone Mountain, Dapo Pond, the Golden Tree on Brown Avenue, Guanshan Riverside Park, Luye Highland, the Southern Cross-Island Highway, Chulu Ranch, Liji Badlands, and more.

Zhiben Hot Springs is renowned as the 'Top Scenic Spot of Eastern Taiwan.' In earlier times, hot springs would naturally bubble up on the riverbed. These springs are alkaline carbonate springs, colorless, odorless, and tasteless, with temperatures exceeding 100 degrees Celsius, making their water quality exceptional. Zhiben is divided into inner and outer hot spring areas, with the inner area developing later. However, with the presence of five-star hot spring resort hotels, it has become a major commercial hub in the region. This development has also attracted more foreign tourists seeking high-quality services.

Day 4: TAITUNG - KAOHSIUNG

Stop At: Kenting National Park, Kenting National Park
Kenting National Scenic Area Located on the south side of the Hengchun Peninsula at the southern tip of Taiwan, surrounded by the sea on three sides, it is the only national park covering both land and sea in China, and the only tropical area on Taiwan’s main island. It is the demarcation point between Taiwan Strait and Bashi Channel.

Fo Guang Shan, located in the northeastern region of Dashu Township, Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, is a renowned Buddhist sanctuary recognized both in Taiwan and abroad. It is often referred to as the 'Southern Capital of Buddhism.' Founded in 1967 by the contemporary Buddhist master Venerable Hsing Yun and his disciples, it stands as Taiwan's largest Buddhist monastic institution. Fo Guang Shan has also established Fo Guang University, dedicated to propagating the doctrine of 'Humanistic Buddhism' advocated by Venerable Hsing Yun. Over the years, it has grown into the most populous and prestigious Buddhist pilgrimage site in Taiwan.

Inside the warehouse, there's a thematic wall dedicated to showcasing Taiwan's local products and artistic creations within the context of cultural and creative design.

Stop At: Banana Pier Mall, No. 23 Penglai Road, Gushan, Kaohsiung 804 Taiwan
The Banana Pier, standing in Kaohsiung Harbor for nearly half a century, is now one of the historical landmarks in Kaohsiung City. In the 1950s, Taiwan exported a large quantity of bananas to Japan, earning significant foreign exchange. During that time, nearly all the bananas from various regions were handled through Kaohsiung Harbor. In 1963, a double-deck banana shed was constructed on Pier 3. To accommodate the stacking method of banana bamboo baskets used at that time, the main building's pillars were densely spaced compared to typical warehouses. Additionally, for proper ventilation in banana storage, it was built in an open-air manner, making it the only open-air warehouse in Kaohsiung Harbor.

Day 5: KAOHSIUNG - NANTOU - TAICHUNG

Stop At: Sun Moon Lake, Zhongshan Rd., Yuchi Township, Yuchi 555 Taiwan
After breakfast, head to the Sun Moon Lake Scenic Area, located in Shuishe Village, Yuchi Township, Nantou County. It is Taiwan's only natural lake, and you can take a boat tour on the lake. In the lake, there is a small island that looks like a pearl floating on the water when viewed from afar, known as Lalu Island. With this island as the dividing point, the northern half of the lake is shaped like a round sun, while the southern half is shaped like a crescent moon. It's from this unique feature that Sun Moon Lake derives its name.

The Wenwu Temple is located on the steep mountainside to the north of Sun Moon Lake. It is built in accordance with the natural terrain, rising higher as you move towards the back, creating a magnificent and imposing structure. The main entrance faces the road that encircles the lake. The temple is oriented in an 'east-facing west' direction, with its back against the mountain and its front overlooking the lake, giving it a majestic presence as if it commands a panoramic view of the land.

"The Jhunan Brewery is located within the Miaoli Jhunan Industrial Zone and is the largest in terms of area and production volume among all the brewery facilities owned by the Taiwan Tobacco and Liquor Corporation. The primary function of the brewery is beer production. It is later joined by a bottling plant, a transportation center, and the Taipei Brewery, making it the largest supplier of beer and bottles in the northern region of Taiwan."

The Martyrs' Shrine is built to honor the loyal and righteous spirit of the enshrined martyrs. It proclaims this spirit to the world through its magnificent archways. The shrine is constructed in a three-doorway style using concrete, with a roof covered in blue glazed tiles.

The Xinyi Shopping District is located in the Xinyi District of Taipei, Taiwan and is one of the most vibrant commercial areas in the city.
