The sculpture was once located in the Piazza della Bocca della Veritá until 1632. It was then transferred to the outside of one of the walls of the nearby Santa María in Cosmedin, the place where it remains today.

Piazza Venezia is a very large square located in the heart of Rome and many important avenues merge into it such as Via dei Fori Imperiali and Via del Corso. The name of the square derives from Palazzo Venezia, a building previously used as Venice embassy in Rome.The square has changed its aspect many times over the years due to some construction and demolition of many buildings between the nineteenth and the twentieth century. One of the most important parts of the square is the enormous monument called “Vittoriano”, dedicated to Vittorio Emanuele II, first king of Italy, situated between the square and the Capitoline Hill. With its impressive white aspect, the “Vittoriano” dominates Piazza Venezia and it’s made of white travertine.
The monument is also known as “Altare della Patria” because it contains the altar of the unknown soldier. According to the Christmas tradition, every year a spruce is placed in Piazza Venezia as a decoration for the holiday season.

Trevi Fountain is the most beautiful fountain in Rome. Measuring some 20 meters in width by 26 meters in height, Trevi Fountain is also the largest fountain in the city.The origins of the fountain go back to the year 19 B.C., in which period the fountain formed the end of the Aqua Virgo aqueduct. The first fountain was built during the Renaissance, under the direction of Pope Nicholas V.
The final appearance of the Trevi Fountain dates from 1762, when after many years of works at the hand of Nicola Salvi, it was finalized by Giuseppe Pannini.Interestingly enough, the name of Trevi derives from Tre Vie (three ways), since the fountain was the meeting point of three streets.

Originally the Pantheon was built by Agrippa between 27 and 25 BC and he dedicated it to the worship of all the Olympians. The word “Pantheon” in fact comes from the Greek and literally means (temple) “of all Gods” (“pan” = “all” and “theon” = “divine”).
However, Agrippa’s original construction was damaged by two fires, in 80 A.D. and 120 A.D. and was completely rebuilt by Emperor Hadrian between 118 and 125 A.D., preserved substantially intact to this day.
