A shopping street of over 200 meters, called Nakamise, leads from the outer gate to the temple's second gate, the Hozomon. Walk through the Nakamise Street and find the various traditional local snacks!

Meiji Jingu is one of Japan's most popular shrines. This Shinto shrine was dedicated to Emperor and Empress Meiji, completed in 1920.

Entry into the shrine grounds is marked by a massive torii gate, after which the sights and sounds of the busy city are replaced by a tranquil forest.
