Acatenango Overnight Hike Multiday Tour

Our all included tour is the best option to enjoy this beautiful volcano which travelers have rated it as the most beautiful volcano in all Central America, its beauty is due to the twin volcano Fuego which is active and performs an extraordinary eruption for all the travelers at our camping area on Acatenango.

Our company is located in front of the Fuego Volcano and if it is clear enough you will be able to see Pacaya and Agua volcanoes as well.

Each tent has a pillow, – 6°C sleeping bag, extra blanket, a 5″ or 12cm comfortable mattress, under the matt all over the tent we have a waterproof carpet to isolate the cold from the bottom, also the tent is inside a wooden cabin to isolate the cold from the top.

In our tourism project we work together with a cooperative of local guides CAT (Comité de Autogestión Turística) conformed by the people of the community San Jose Calderas, Chimaltenango.

Itinerary

Day 1: The day of the hike

Pick you up at your hostel:
Our shuttle will pick you up from your hostel between 8am and
8:30am. Please be ready with your check out done and luggage.
Have a nice breakfast before we pick you up.

CA Travelers Supply Center:
At the supply center we will provide you everything that you
need, we need to pack fast to continue to the entrance of the
volcano.

Ride to Acatenango:
We have 45 minutes in the shuttle to the volcano

Start Hike:
We take the before picture with the whole group, we introduce
the guides and we are ready to go

Lunch Time:
After the first two hours, the group will stop for lunch. That way
you have 45 minutes to recover your energy

Campsite:
Arriving to the campsite, the guides will prepare Guatemalan
hot chocolate (Real Kakao) as a reward for your effort and to
enjoy the volcano.

OPTIONAL: After you recover a little and restore your energy with the hot chocolate, you can decide if you want to do the extra hike to Acatenangos twin volcano Fuego.

Dinner Time:
Whenever you get hungry the guides will prepare

Day 2: The day of return

Top of the Volcano:
Be ready to hike to the top of the volcano. It takes 1.5 hours to
reach the top. Enjoy the sunrise.
Duration: 4 hours

Breakfast time:
When you return to the campsite, the guides will prepare the
breakfast for you.

Return to Antigua, you will be drop off at your hostel
