Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Stop At: Thamel, Kathmandu 44600 Nepal
After arrival in Kathmandu, we will drop you off to your hotel for you to freshen up and in the evening our guide will meet you and take you on a tour of Thamel market and its surrounding areas. Thamel is famous for its alleys and numerous shops and cafes selling everything ranging from handicrafts to other items for hiking and trekking.

Stop At: Pashupatinath Temple, 44621 Pashupati Nath Road, Kathmandu 44600 Nepal
We will visit Pashupartnath in the evening to view the evening prayers or aarti which is an integral part of the rituals of Hinduism. We will also visit the burning ghats and get a glimpse of the rituals of Hindu culture and its various customs and traditions.

Day 2: Kathmandu City Tour

Stop At: Patan Durbar Square, Patan (Lalitpur) 44700 Nepal
Patan is a small city bordering Nepal's capital, Kathmandu. The highlight of the city is its dense Durbar square, a collection of temples concentrated in a tiny area. The entire east side of the Darbar square is dominated by the ancient royal palace complex. It is known as the city of fine arts. The city is full of Hindu temples and Buddhist monuments. The diversity of the medieval culture that allowed both Hinduism and Buddhism to flourish has left a rich legacy of impressive sightseeing in this city for today's visitors.

Stop At: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Kathmandu 44600 Nepal
Kathmandu's Durbar Square was built primarily in the 16th and 17th centuries. Like Nepal's other Durbar Squares, it contains a royal palace (a"durbar") and many temples built in a traditional Newar, pagoda style. On the southern border of the square lies the Kumari Chowk (House), home to Nepal's "Kumari" - a prepubescent girl chosen as theliving incarnation of the Hindu goddess, Taleju.

Stop At: Swayambhunath Temple, Swayamhu Circle Road, Kathmandu 44620 Nepal
Swayambhunath ( Monkey Temple) is an ancient religious complex atop a hill in the Kathmandu Valley, west of Kathmandu city. It is one of the most sacred Buddhist sites in Nepal, second only to the great Boudhanath stupa to the east of Kathmandu, and a major tourist attraction. The Swayambhunath Stupa is a golden spire crowning a conical wooded hill. It is the most ancient and enigmatic of all the holy shrines in Kathmandu Valley. It has a lofty white dome and a glittering golden spire that are visible from all sides of the valley. Stupa is surroundings consists of chaityas, temples, painted images of deities and numerous other religious objects. Located on a hill on the outskirts of Kathmandu, the temple affords magnificent views over the city and on a clear day to the mountains beyond.

Stop At: Boudhanath Stupa, Boudh, Kathmandu 44600 Nepal
This stupa, eight kilometers east of Kathmandu City is one of the biggest in the world of its kind. It stands with four pairs of eyes in the four cardinal direction keeping watch for righteous behavior and human prosperity. This Buddhist stupa was built by King Man Dev at the advice of Goddess Mani Jogini. It is built on an octagonal base inset with prayer wheels. The shrine is ringed by houses of Lamas or Buddhist priests.

Stop At: Narayanhiti Palace Museum, Durbar Marg, Kathmandu 44600 Nepal
The erstwhile palace of the ruling King of Nepal and also the site of the massacre that left the entire royal family dead. This was the recent seat of power of the kings until the fall of the monarchy and has since been converted into a museum

Day 3: Nagarkot Sunrise and Hiking tour

Stop At: Nagarkot, Nagarkot, Bagmati Zone, Central Region
You will visit Nagarkot for an early morning sunrise view which presents a beautiful view of the sun rising over the Himalayan mountain ranges. We will then hike towards the city through the lush forests and passing through many villages where we will observe the locals and their lifestyle.

Stop At: Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Bhaktapur 00977-1-4701148 Nepal
Bhaktapur, a history-soaked medieval town, is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Founded in the 9th century and shaped like a conch shell, the city boasts an array of temples overlooked by the Palacewith its fifty-five windows built by King Bhupatindra Malla. It is the best preserved of the three original cities of Kathmandu Valley. It is a museum of medieval art and architecture with many examples of sculpture, woodcarving and colossal pagoda temples consecrated to different gods and goddesses. It is a conglomeration of pagoda and shikhara-style temples grouped around a fifty-five window palace of brick and wood. The square is one of the most charming architectural showpieces of the Valley as it highlights the ancient arts of Nepal.
