Day 1: Rabat - Essaouria Ex Mogador

After breakfast, we will drive from Rabat to Essaouira. While in Essaouira, we will explore the city and visit the following attractions:
Medina of Essaouira offers a beautiful colour in the middle of the small shopping streets. The Moroccan-Portuguese style, the Great Mosque, patios, coffee shops, and souks will be available for your visual pleasure.

The cooperative produces argan oil according to the traditional method going through 6 manual steps.
Argan tree
The argan tree and its fruit, is an endemic tree of the south west region of Morocco. It is a tree that can measure up to 8 m in height, but it is kept as a shrub from 2 to 3 m in height to facilitate harvesting. It's a prickly one. It can live up to 200 years. A tree produces about 8 kg of fruit per year. .

The cooperative employs exclusively women to work the nuts. These cooperatives are quite numerous between Essaouira and Marrakech. This makes it possible to provide paid work to women and thus obtain a certain autonomy. About 2,000 women work in these cooperatives.

Visit from Essaouira port: The port of Essaouira is located at the bottom of the walls. The animation is still present and you will see trawlers unloading their fish in the port. You will enjoy a fish lunch at the port or in a local restaurant.

Visit the walls of the Scala and the Kasbah: Essaouira was built along with its walls that served as a defence against the enemies.
