Beijing, abbreviated as "Jing", is the capital of the People s Republic of China. As the political and cultural center of the country, it is also the center of international exchanges.

In Beijing there is a concentration of magnificent classical-style buildings, which represent the height of China s ancient architecture. The city had both inner and outer walls built in the Ming dynasty. Although the walls no longer exist now, their doors and the most important towers still remain intact.
