Full day tour to Colca Canyon
Explore one of the deepest canyons in the world on this 14-hour tour.The Colca Canyon in Arequipa is one of the most beautiful scenes in majestic Peru. With a depth of 1,460 m, this great view will surely please all travelers agendas.
At 3 a.m., they will pick you up from your hotel in Arequipa and drive you for 3.5 hours to Chivay; The capital of the province of Caylloma, where the Colca Canyon and Arequipa are located.
Chivay is located in the northwest of the province, behind the snowy Mount Chachani. Enjoy your breakfast here.
We will continue for 2 more hours towards the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint. Here you can observe the depths and beauty of the deepest canyon in the world along with Snowy Mismi on the other side of the valley.
The emblem of the Colca, the Condor, is hidden in the rocky floods along the cliffs. Here there is a large family of Andean condors burrows and, sometimes, you will be lucky to see them on the coast effortlessly in the Andean breeze, which rises from the canyon.
The region presents beautiful villages through which it will pass, such as Yanque and Maca, where you can stop to appreciate the local sites of colonial churches, native villages with sewing dresses, fabrics and other handmade items, as well as hundreds of pre-Inca terraces still in use. with the Andean natives cultivating agriculture such as corn, quinoa, kiwicha and other grains.
Before lunch there is an option to go to the hot springs of Calera, where the waters reach temperatures of up to 39 ° C.
After lunch, return to Arequipa, on the road stopping at Patapampa, the highest view of the volcanoes and the snowy mountains at about 4,800 m. Here we will also see vicunas, alpacas and wild llamas, exotic birds such as flamingos, ducks, ibis, hawks, eagles and many other species of the Pampa Cañahuas National Reserve.
We will return to Arequipa around 5:30 p.m.
