History Casona del MUI
La Casona Barros is one of the last original houses in the neighborhood El Golf that are left standing. It was built by the architect Carlos Cruz Eyzaguirre in French style in the 1940s, and stayed for 20 years to Subercaseux Barros family. Then in the 70s, the house was acquired by the Municipality of Las Condes. During the 80s and 90s worked in this place, the Civil Registry and the Courts of Local Police.
It was from the year 2012, the Municipality decided to allocate this space for a new cultural project: the MUI Las Condes. an important investment that allowed renew its architecture and restore the original facade and the gardens of the mansion was carried to its former dignity.

The museum
The MUI Las Condes is the first interactive and audiovisual museum in the country, aimed at students and the general public, and seeks to create a unique experience to give life to history, science and culture. The contents that make up our samples are presented to the public at different levels, platforms and languages. The MUI has narrative resources such as humor, play and fiction, and we use stage sets, special effects and atmosphere to expand and bring the experience to visitors.
The MUI wants to become a complement to the education of children and youth with a fun, experiential and participatory look that allows both boys and adults living history, science and culture.
The MUI has 13 rooms, which come alive through different technologies and platforms to enrich the visit. In addition, interactive modules, games, videos and applications with touch screens can address various issues in depth samples. A room 4D Cinema, large-scale projections, holograms and volume mapping experience MUI lead to another reality. And visitors can access many activities throughout the year to complement the museum visit.
The museum opened in October 2015 with the exhibition of "MUI Rome: Vive la Ruta del Imperio", which will be open until the end of 2016. Here visitors can learn in an interactive and playful way about ancient Rome, besides complementing the school curriculum of our students. A way never seen before approaching the glory and fall of the largest known empire.
