Day 1: Quito Departure | Explore the Majestic Cotopaxi Active Volcano

Stop At: Cotopaxi National Park, Ecuador
Nestled within the stunning Andean Mountain range lies Cotopaxi Volcano, soaring to an impressive 5897 meters above sea level. This area is home to a remarkable array of flora and fauna. Today, you have two exciting options to make the most of this adventurous day:

Option A: Horseback Riding (2 hours)
Option B: Hike to the José Rivas Refuge (approximately 1.5 hours) starting from the parking lot at 4864 meters above sea level.

Later, we'll explore the Mariscal Sucre Interpretation Center, featuring a captivating exhibition of photographs and information about Cotopaxi Volcano.

Following lunch, our journey continues to Tungurahua, where you'll have dinner and experience the enchanting nightlife of Baños de Agua Santa."

Before reaching our lodge, we'll make a memorable stop to explore the renowned Monkey's River Beach, situated between the Napo and Misahualli rivers. This charming town serves as a primary hub for canoes and boats traveling along the Napo River, and it boasts a picturesque sandy beach that's famous for its playful troop of monkeys

As we arrive at the dock area of the Suchipakari EcoLodge, our friendly staff will extend a warm welcome to you with a refreshing tropical drink. You'll also receive a brief orientation about your accommodation and the upcoming activities, which will be provided by one of our expert naturalist guides.

Following a delicious dinner, get ready for an enchanting nocturnal journey into the heart of the jungle. Armed with your flashlight and camera, you'll embark on a night hike, guided by our expert. This experience allows you to immerse yourself in the symphony of nocturnal sounds, from the calls of fishing bats and owls to the intriguing hum of insects. Keep your eyes peeled for encounters with tarantulas, toads, frogs, and perhaps even the elusive snake.
