Itinerary

This private, authentic cooking and dining experience takes place in Amal’s beautiful, classic Lebanese family home, which has a fire place and lovely terrace with views of the capital. Aramoun, a suburb outside Beirut where Amal’s home is located, is surrounded by gardens and lovely residential homes. Relax in her home with a refreshing drink in hand as Amal gives you an introduction to Lebanese cuisine and its history. Later join Amal and her mother for a 1-hour hands-on cooking experience in their home kitchen. Learn to cook a Lebanese appetizer, salad and a dessert created from family recipes, using authentic Lebanese cooking techniques and ingredients.

After cooking, join Amal and her parents at the dining table to enjoy the traditional Lebanese meal you helped prepare. Your menu might include dishes such as chickpeas with lemon, olive oil and garlic sauce, tabouli (a salad), kibbi (minced meat with herbs and nuts) and mtabal (grilled, mashed eggplant added to tahini, lemon juice and garlic). You will end your meal with a dessert of maakaroun, deep fried semolina fingers soaked in sugar syrup.
