Stop At: Khe Sanh Combat Base, Huong Hoa District, Khe Sanh Vietnam

The Seige started on January 21, 1968, when the north Vietnamese shelled the base with more than one thousand mortar rounds, rockets, ang heavy artillery.

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Vinh Moc Tunnel, Vinh Th_ch, Dong Ha 520000 Vietnam

The tunnels were built in three levels (12, 15 and 23 meters deep) and took thirteen months to complete. Three hundred people lived intermittently in the tunnels during 1966 to 1971. Sixty-two families made the tunnels their home and amazingly seventeen babies were born here and spent the first years of their lives underground.

Visiting other places on the highway 1 and 9 to Vinh Moc and Khe Sanh:

Long Hung Church: This church in Quang Tri, Vietnam fell victim to 8 continuous days of bombings by South Vietnamese and American troops during the Vietnam War. The church has remained untouched and basically remains as it was immediately after the bombings occurred.which was a battlefield in 1972 between North and South Vietnam for 81 days and nights.

Doc Mieu Base: There's basically nothing left of this old American base save a rusting tank and a sign. Apparently this once formed the backbone of the "eagle eyes of america" electronic monitoring fence.

Ben Hai River – Hien Luong Bridge of DMZ: Vietnam's Demilitarized Zone, or DMZ, is the area around the former border between North and South Vietnam.

Cua Tung Beach: The beach has sparkling green water, silky sand, and it is touched by soft breezes throughout the year. Having a rest and take some beautiful photos from here.

Rockpile: The Hill was a Marine outpost built on top of a huge outcropping. Though it’s inaccessible, it’s a prominent sight from the highway.

Dakrong Bridge & Ho Chi Minh Road: It is midway along Highway 9, and is the starting point of Highway 15, one of the main branches of the Ho Chi Minh Trail, which leads south to the A Shau valley.

Duration: 2 hours

Stop At: Hien Luong, Hien Luong, Phu Tho Province

DMZ Vietnam is the area around the former border between North and South Vietnam. Historically it was a narrow band of terrain extending from Laos to the coast, five km on either side of the Ben Hai River, roughly on the 17th parallel..
