Full day sightseeing tour of the American sectors of the D-Day Normandy invasion + Airborne Museum. An experienced English speaking guide will show you the battlefield sites and explain in detail the events that occurred.

This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Bayeux Shuttle - Departure point, Place de Quebec, Bayeux France

We like to run on schedule and if you are not at the departure point by the advertised boarding time, we will depart.
There will be others on board that have arrived as requested and we do not want to impact their experience. If you do arrive late, you will need to take a cab at your own expense to catch up with the tour. We strongly advise you to arrive early for the tour as no refunds will be considered if you miss the service.

Stop At: Bayeux Shuttle - the Longest Day, 14 Rue des Bateaux, 14520 Aure sur Mer, France

You will be given a great overview of the beach landings that took place on Omaha Beach on June 6th, 1944. After which, you will have around 15 minutes free time to walk on the sand (depending on tidal conditions) where American forces landed on D-Day.

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Cimetiere Americain de Colleville-sur-Mer, 14710 Colleville-sur-Mer France

The guide will lead you into the incredible American Cemetery and explain many key facts about when it was built, why it is located where it is and many of stories of the men and women who are buried here.

You will be given around 45 minutes free time to explore on your own.

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Pointe du Hoc, 14450 Cricqueville-en-Bessin France

You will learn about the role of the American Rangers on D-Day who had to scale the cliffs at the Pointe-Du-Hoc to silence long range German guns.

You will be given sufficient free time to explore on your own after the explanations given by your guide.

Stop At: Airborne Museum, 14 rue Eisenhower, 50480 Sainte-Mere-Eglise France

Included in the cost of your tour is a ticket to enter the impressive Airborne Museum. Your guide will give you sufficient time to tour this fantastic location that will give you a greater insight into the Airborne operation.

Stop At: Sainte-Mere-Eglise, Sainte-Mere-Eglise, Manche, Basse-Normandie, Normandy

This small Norman town was situated on the main N13 road that linked Cherbourg to Bayeux and Caen. This was the main route that both Germans and Americans would need to mobilize much needed equipment during the battle of Normandy. Ste Mere Eglise was an objective for 82nd Airborne Paratroopers and has been made famous by the movie, The Longest Day. American Paratrooper John Steele was unfortunate to get caught on the church steeple during the drop.

Pass By: Bayeux Shuttle - Hedgerows Battle, Foucarville, 50480 Sainte-Mère-Église, France

As we drive, we will show you some of the typical hedgerow terrain that the allies had to battle through. We will explain how the Germans utilized the countryside known as the "bocage" to their defensive advantage and how the allies overcame them.

Stop At: Utah Beach, 50480 Sainte-Marie-du-Mont France

Your guide will give you a detailed account of the landings by the American 4th Infantry Division before allowing you some free time to explore the many monuments that are located here.

Pass By: Major Richard Winters Memorial, Highway D913 Near Sainte-Marie-Du-Mont, 50480 Sainte-Marie-du-Mont France

We will stop briefly to show you one of our favorite's monuments in Normandy. Richard Winters was chosen to represent leadership due to his worldwide fame from the TV mini-series, Band of Brothers.

We will take time to explain the significance of this beautiful small village. This was an objective for the 101st Airborne to help the forces landing on Utah Beach.

Stop At: Angoville-Au-Plain, Angoville-Au-Plain, Carentan-les-Marais, Manche, Basse-Normandie, Normandy

Situated approximately 5 miles from Carentan, the small village of Angoville-Au-Plain witnessed heavy fighting between the German Paratroopers and American Paratroopers that dropped close by at dropzone D. After our 101st Airborne briefing, you will then hear the incredible story of two Airborne Medics. Kenneth Moore and Robert Wright displayed not only courage but also humanity during the desperate struggle to take this small area of Normandy.
